RE: Fuji Thingy
Both Smoothwall and IPCop have Squid as part of the installation, by
default. I
did have Smoothie but after applying patches it stopped going so switched
to
IPCop.
IPCop is a project fork of Smoothwall (An interesting story in it's own
right)
and runs very happily on a DX2/66 with 64Mb memory and a dialup line.
Sadly for
me BT have no intention of installing ADSL kit in my local exchange.
The only niggles can be setting up your NIC's other than that, easy !
Mark
P.S. Thanks Dave for the words of encouragement.

If you run a PC-based firewall like Smoothwall / IPCop, you'll find it
comes
with a transparent proxy (Squid) that works well...
Don't use Windows for this - use Linux, even if you need to install Squid
by
hand,

<grin> Last night a friend and I were both
sat downstairs with a Fuji
each surfing the same site, comparing notes.
Great fun.
I need a common Internet cache on my Server
though...
