The LCD's are actually in the US and I got one
for
$100 plus $20 shipping.
LVDS is Low Voltage Differential Signalling
and is
used to transmit high speed data on a twisted pair. With the LCD you
actually
convert the parallel signals into a serial bitstream and transmit on
multiple
twisted pairs. For a 640x480 LCD you are looking at something like a 1.5Gbs
link
speed.
Isolated is ideal if you need to guarantee
that any
high voltage failure on the controller side does not get onto the bus but
my own
designs tend to prevent this but always using low voltage and relays for
the
high voltage side with high insulation barriers.
