RE: [ slightly OT ] 1-wire hubs
Jon,
I was talking to Mick Furlong last week about this. There are 10
people on
Simons email who are purchasing hubs that are on this list and many of
us
are looking at doing the same thing. I did suggest we set up a ukha
1-wire
list as there is a lot of knowledge to share amongst us. Interesting
we are
both considering building 1-wire based lighting controllers although i
was
planning on adding my sensor bundle into the same unit as well then
running
it all back to a TINI board at node 0 using the hub.
thanks
kieran
p/s Fancy selling off one of your LCDs?

Ah, interesting, I didn't realise.

Dunno, what would be the advantage? I'm unsure as to the whole build
thing
at
the moment... i.e. I pay for a rebuilt board (I'm lazy) who builds it?!

Yep, in theory :-) My plans are much grander than the reality i.e. at
the
moment I just have a TINI, some 1-wire LCDs, switches, temp. sensors,
all
sitting next to the PC. I have CAT5 sprouting at various points in the
house
but as yet not connected to anything 1-wire!
My plan is for 1-wire hardware is: PIR and temperature sensors in most
rooms.
Also I'll have a few rooms with 1-wire buttons/digital pots for
controlling
lighting (X10 dimmers, but 1-wire control user controls using the TINI as
an
intelligent 1-wire to X10 bridge). I was going to use the 1-wire LCDs
before
I
got the wireless Fuji, haven't decided what to use them for now!
