Lucent P85 Question

Is anyone familiar with the Lucent Pipeline P85 router, I have one of
these as part of my home office package from work, it is currently
setup to do the dual channel bonding however the head end of the
system doesn't support this so I would like to force it to use only
one channel.
The IT guys say this can't be done but I am slightly sceptical, if my
low end office connect router can do it I would have expected a
similar feature on the P85.
any Ideas
