Sorry for the OT but Fuji & the retailer are useless!

I purchased a Finepix 2800 Zoom a few weeks ago. All was well until it starter
turning itself off at random. Despite minimal usage and no battery warnings I
replaced the (supplied) batteries with Duracells and it was ok, for a while...
30 or so shots later and it was back to its old ways so I sent it back and got
a replacement. The replacement it doing the same!!

The place I bought it from haven't got a clue.

Fuji reckon it coulld be that 'regular' alkaline batteries arent good enough
(doesn't say that in the manual!) and I need 16-17mA ones?

So,

If you own one of these, have you had any similar problems?
Does it work ok on regular alkaline batteries?
What does it do when the batteries are going flat? Just power down with no
warning?

If you can help, please mail me off list.

Cheers,
Justin.
