In that particular mode, the desktop is stretched across all three
monitors=
, running something like 3840 x 1024. The wallpaper dimensions are similar
=
and simply applied and stretched as normal. Sounds like you're running
inde=
pendent screen res on each monitor? I see that when running just two
monito=
rs on the Matrox G450 card (and want max screen res on each).
Paul.

Paul, how did you get a different image on each desktop??
I have two monitors on XP, a 22" iiyama VMPro510, and a relisys LCD,
a=
nd the
only thing which annoys me is having a "mini" version of my main
=
wallpaper
displayed on the LCD.
I have a bunch of panoramic photos which are just begging to be used as
a
desktop ;)
Ian.

This shows my Sony FW900 and two Iiyama VM Pro 454's. All three run off
a
Matrox Parhelia 'Triplehead' card.
The Sony is around =A31000 and the Iiyama's =A3250 (excellent value
19"=
; monitors
with superb picture).
The Sony likes 1920x1200 best.
I've also got a KVM switch so I can jump over to my Video Edit PC's
(which<=
BR>
run a dual head config).
SERIOUS desktop space - I'd never go back to anything else!
Paul.

Mark, You might want to look at the Sony FW900 CRT too - it's a 24"
mo=
nitor
with 16:1 ratio running at 1920X1200. No idea on price. They also do a
really really nice widescreen TFT too. Again no idea on price or how good
i=
t
is - I happened to spot them whilst browsing just now.
With respect to dual head: I use that at the moment from XP and do
really
like it. I like having two windows open that I'm working from, like a
development window and a help page, and dual head works really well for
this - since you can maximise each window within a display without
faffing<=
BR>
to arrange windows. Windows Remote Desktop works well with it too and
force=
s
all the apps on to the single screen of my laptop when I connect to my
desktop remotely. Apps like VNC and Radmin aren't quite so clever about
thi=
s
though. Not all applications properly understand dual head either -
it's
nice to move toolbars away from the main screen, but this doesn't
always
work well (although this might be a consequence of running the two
monitors=
at different resolutions).

Price wise it definitely is.
You don't need a dual head card tho if you are using XP, it
supports=
two
video cards iirc.
Mind you I've not tried it personally so it might be a pile of poo
w=
ith
all
sorts of problems ;)
Cheers, Des.
