Just thought I'd bring this to your attention.

I have a piddling little collection of about 9,000 MP3s (not quite up
there with the big boys yet :-)) but I've always had a problem with
finding a fast database\player to manage this large number of files.

I think I've found the answer to my prayers - MP3rat

It's built around an extremely fast search engine and the web site says
it can support up to 30,000 mp3s easily. Once loaded, it parses the file
name and MP3 tags and creates a data dictionary which can be accessed by
various means.

This really does blow away anything I've seen before. It has an
integrated player or will interface to most of the standard external
players, can edit and write tags etc.

There is a 30 day trial available on the web site but after a quick play
I'm going to register it.

No association with the vendor, blah, blah......

Give it a try:

PS they have also developed a bookmark database based on the same search
engine, also worth a look!

Cheers
Don
