GotoMyPC!

Thought i'd post about gotomypc as its an amazing service for what
it offers.

Basically its like RDC/PCAnywhere - ie. you can connect to your
home/office/etc pc from anywhere. The difference to this product
unlike most over commercial applications like PCAnywhere is it uses
standard outgoing ports incoming ports do not need to be opened.

It comminutes on outbound port 80, 443 or 8200, which tend to be
open by most corporate firewalls these days. So once you've
installed the client on your pc it sends a "ping"-type package to
there server every 65seconds or so. If you goto www.gotomypc.com
you login to your account and connect remotely via there (activex or
java applet depending on your web browser).

Regardless of whether you like the technology you should look at it
as someone could very easily breech your network by installing this
as it uses standard outgoing ports.

For the technies on here you'll want to look at:
https://www.gotomypc.com/help2.tmpl#securitycomp
https://www.gotomypc.com/help2.tmpl#securitycorporate

Tells you have to block it - its kind of worrying (from a system
admin point of view) yet such a great product at the same time.
