Hello Dave

You could try a different TYPE of MCB (different TYPE.. NOT make)
A,B,C,D
I had the same problemm with my LV lamps when I first fitted them
I think the standard type of mcb is B, you could try maybe a type C,
which handles the initial switch on surge better. There is a type D
aswell, but im not sure thay make them in 6A, I think they are for
welding equipment etc=20

I have about 16 LV lights in my kitchen, but the type C 6A MCB couldn=92t
handle that many and I had to change the MCB for a 10A type C one.

Not strictly HA, but you lot here seem to be the font of all=20
knowledge lighting wise.

A long time ago I bought a Screwfix Flex 5 spot Halogen kit, which=20
I've only just got around to fitting. When the light is switched on=20
the breaker trips. After 5 days (long story) I've now worked out=20
that it's not my dodgy wiring, but the light itself. My brother=20
suggests it's the transformer, momentarily drawing more than 6A and=20
thus the trip. It seems it's not a soft-start transformer (why oh=20
why don't these get sold with a large warning).

Is there anything I can do to resolve this? Some sort of surge=20
suppressor I can fit just before the light. Someone else has=20
suggested a transformer, but I'm wary it'll be noisy. Or am I doomed=20
to pulling the damn thing down, filling in all those holes I've=20
drilled and buying a whole new light?

Thanks

Dave
