I am sure someone out here can give chapter and verse on this, but
the outer sheaf on the satalite cable is not ground, at least on the
dual ( quad, with only two used ) installation.
I can't remember what I measured, but I think it was about 35 V AC
between them. ( might of been 70V, but it was some time ago)
It did no lasting harm to my sky plus box to have the sheafs shorted
together, but I certainly got no signal.
Isolating them fully from each other gives me full functionality.
