I was very reluctant with my two kids (and still am to some extent)
but when
most of their class mates are on it it's difficult to refuse. I had it set
up to log conversations at the start but my eldest has worked out how to
turn it off (my youngest hasn't yet).
I've a friend who uses a logger called I Am Big Brother
(http://www.key-stroke.com/keylogger/iambigbrother-keylogger.html)
and
doesn't tell his kids it's there but to be honest I'm not sure if he ever
finds the time to properly examine the logs.
I think the bottom line is if you set the ground rules at the start with
the
threat that they'll lose access completely if they breach them there's not
much else you can do...

Keith,
Unfortunately it seems that you have to take the initiative and monitor the
people who your daughter talks to. I believe that you can record the
conversation logs etc. I don't believe there are any automatic ways of
restricting access.
