Help with Asterisk Install

I'm a complete Linux novice!!
I've installed from the Asterisk@Home CD, but it doesn't recognise my
3Com network card.
I've installed the drivers from the CD, and all worked well until I
rebooted.
Now it appears not be be auto-loading the network drivers, as it says
device not found for eth0 - if I then go to the drivers dir and re-run
insmod 3c2000.o it works again - how do I get it to auto-load?
