Yep, I'm using it for a few bits and pieces now as an interim solution
until
I work on some more device / software specific apps.  I did post to the
list
a few days back with details if anyone wants to take a look :)

I've also got a smtp->xap gateway knocked up too if anybody is
interested,
but it's a bit of a kludge as I couldn't find any freebie vb.net smtp
server
components so had to use a trial of a paid for one.....

I've also been toying with some sort of syslog->xap gateway as there's a
couple things I could do with e.g. my vigor voip router announces caller id
over syslog so it would be nice to get at that info.

Unfortunately the latest versions of the powerchute software seem to be a
bit closed off and don't offer much in the way of accessibility of
information.  The best I've come up with so far is being able to send a xap
message as part of the power cut / shutdown process.
