dump"
this has happened to me only twice, once last
wekk.
i thinkit is core dump or it says something
like
dumping core to disk, it gives a % 1-100 once it has got to 100 it kills
the

It
means that your PC has suffered an error which it cannot recover from, and
as
a result Windows has dissapeared up its own arsehole :). They are
usually caused by badly written applications or device
drivers.
Use
Windows 2000, or from October XP, and your PC will hardly ever suffer from
these providing you have well written drivers for your hardware. This has a
lot to do with the fact that each application's memory space is protected
in
windows 2000 - so if an app does crash it doesn't bring down everything
else
with it.
I haven't seen one since upgrading to Service Pack 2 on Windows 2000!

What does the blue screen of death mean I have
seen it a couple of times on my PC at work?

Shit. 3 weeks ago i would have. My bro
gave me a motherboard that has been a right pain under windows giving
blue screens of death etc. I added 290 quids worth of parts to make a
server. Put linux on (e-smith) and it is 100% reliable.
