I'm thinking of doing it the other way round, so the edge is lowered, with
the original ceiling visible "cut out" in the middle, largely to
make access
a little easier.

I'll take pictures when  do it.. Might be interesting for someone.

light off in this way? Regular matt brilliant white or something else?
