I really don't know what they think - I think they're talking
nonsense, but
I'll play along to try to get my adsl working reliably again. They latched
on to the fact that it is almost exactly 8:30am, 12:30, and 1800 that the
connection SNR seems to drop to around 3-4dB. They think because of the
period that it may be something in our house causing the problem.

I would tend to agree if the connection was completely dropping, but the
lowering attenuation suggests a line problem to me....

This has been ongoing for about 8 weeks, I just want to get a resolution...
