Andrew
I tried Patrick's xAP app and didnt have much luck with my hacked
Caller-ID
(or with any of the other xAP CID apps). I suspect the Meteor may do some
basic cleaning of the datastream, so although the actual data is identical
some of the spurious lead-in is removed, which, when present from a hacked
unit may be enough to put off the Meteor based apps.
I have a HomeSeer plug-in working very reliably which will send an xAP CID
message with either of the xAP HS Plugins.

Thanks Patrick,
I shall try again tonight with a fresh reboot etc.
Quick question:
Should I see any output in the console window when a call comes in...?
I've tried setting the debug level to 4 but don't see anything when a call
comes in.
Anyway, I'll try again tonight and get back to you if I'm still having
problems.
Many thanks,
Andy.

You *should* be able to use my app. Others have reported success, and
the data supplied by the meteor should be identical to that from a hacked

Hi all,
I've finally got round to hacking one of the several caller ID units I
got of eBay.
(Same as the smaller unit here: http://tinyurl.com/7pp2q)
So, I've verified that it works watching the call data using RealTerm.
Next step is to find a xAPplication that will convert it into a caller
ID message.
I know there are quite a few out there but I'm not sure what baud etc.
they use to connect to the COM port.
(I tried Patrick's Meteor Caller ID utility on the off-chance but no
joy)
I need 1200 baud.
Is there an application out there that will allow me to configure the
baud etc. of the COM port connection...?
Many thanks,
Andy.
